Sox lose 10th straight

The Brantford Red Sox had a pair of leads against the London Majors on Wednesday but couldn’t hold on for the victory.

Playing at Arnold Anderson Stadium, London (5-9) erased deficits of 1-0 and 3-2 on its way to scoring a 7-3 Intercounty Baseball League victory against Brantford.

The loss was the 10th straight for the Red Sox (1-10).

Fernando Suarez and Nick Zarzycki drove in Brantford’s runs with Nick Burdett scoring twice.

Michael Bannon (1-2) allowed five runs on four hits in 4.2 innings. He gave up three walks and struck out five in taking the loss.

The Red Sox are back in action on Friday in London for a 7:35 p.m. game. Brantford then finishes its week off with a game Sunday in Hamilton (5-3) at 2 p.m.

The team’s next home game is Monday at Arnold Anderson Stadium at 8 p.m. against the Welland Jackfish (5-6).
