The number of active COVID-19 cases in Brantford-Brant has dropped to four with no new cases being reported by the Brant County Health Unit on Tuesday.
Health unit figures posted at 11 a.m. Tuesday show the number of active cases locally dropped to four from the nine that were reported on Monday. All four people are self-isolating at home.
Meanwhile, the number of people who have tested positive in Brantford-Brant since the beginning of the pandemic remains at 136, unchanged since last Wednesday.
The vast majority of those who have tested positive locally – 128 – have since recovered. However, four people have died as a result of COVID-19 in Brantford-Brant.
An outbreak at Brierwood Gardens in Brantford, declared July 11 when one staff member, who works in both the retirement home and long-term care facility, tested positive continues. An outbreak is declared over if no new cases appear with 14 days.
