Teen charged in stabbing

Police have arrested a 17-year-old Brantford resident in relation to the stabbing of a man in April.

At about 4 p.m. on April 22, police received a 911 call about an assault on Kennedy Street near Sydenham Street.

There they found a 41-year-old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say it wasn’t a random act and the victim and suspect know each other.

Police say they located the accused on Thursday at a house on Dalhousie Street where he was arrested. Police say he was wanted at the time on six outstanding warrants.

He has been charged with aggravated assault, motor vehicle theft, fail to comply with recognizance order, and breach of probation.

Drugs, money found at motel

 

Two people have been charged after police found a large amount of drugs and money in a Brantford motel room.

Police conducted an investigation on Tuesday at a Colborne Street East motel where they say drugs were being sold.

Using a search warrant, they found $4,600 worth of suspected methamphetamine and $2,600 worth of suspected fentanyl.

A 33-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, both of Brantford, are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and other offences.

 

Shotgun, ammunition found in home

 

Four Brantford residents are facing numerous charges after police found drugs, a shotgun and ammunition at a Colborne Street East home.

Police used a search warrant Wednesday to enter the house where they say they found a shotgun with an altered stock and barrel, shotgun shells, rifle rounds and more than $300 worth of suspected cocaine.

Three men, aged 46, 38 and 32, and a 34-year-old woman were arrested.

 

Woman charged with stealing vehicle

 

Police say a 27-year-old Brantford woman stole a vehicle from a Gladstone Avenue driveway then used credit cards and identification belonging to the victim.

Police say the vehicle was taken overnight on June 1. Credit cards found inside the vehicle were used a short time later to buy items at a local business.

Police arrested the accused Monday after stopping her in a vehicle . They say she was in possession of a set of stolen licence plates.

She is charged with motor vehicle theft, theft of credit card, use of a stolen credit card, fraud under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

 

Man had stolen credit cards: police

 

A bicyclist arrested Thursday was found with stolen credit cards and bank cards, say police.

Officers spotted the man at about 1 p.m. riding in the area of North Park and St. George streets. They say he had three outstanding arrest warrants.

Police say the bicycle had been reported stolen from a nearby school.

A 24-year-old Brantford man is charged with theft, possession and fraud, all under $5,000, breach of probation and use of a stolen credit card.

 

Woman found passed out in vehicle

 

A woman found passed out at steering wheel of her running vehicle has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs.

Police say they got a 911 call at about 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday reporting a driver weaving all over Clarence Street, then going into a business parking lot on Icomm Drive.

Police say they were able to wake up and speak to the driver. She was arrested.

The 31-year-old Simcoe woman is also charged with breach of probation and driving while under suspension.
