Arrest made in daytime robbery attempt

A 25-year-old woman is facing charges after Brant OPP responded to a call about a someone attempting to steal a vehicle on Tuesday in downtown Paris.

Police say they were called to the attempted robbery of the vehicle, owned by an elderly driver, at about 10:15 a.m.

Police say the suspect was found on a nearby street and arrested without incident.

The woman, of no fixed address, is charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of opioid, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, shoplifting, and theft under $5,000.
